Streaming Blockchain Info

Financial data is one of the most streamed types of APIs we cover, and a large portion of our customers are in the finance space. The Blockchain and Bitcoin are a fast-growing part of this conversation. To support this aspect of our business we’ve been working to profile the number of Blockchain APIs out there to help identify the greatest opportunities for delivering streaming blockchain using existing web APIs. Next up on our list is Blockchain.info, which provides a pretty basic, yet fundamental look at the Blockchain landscape.

Blockchain Info
Blockchain is the world’s leading software platform for digital assets. Offering the largest production blockchain platform in the world, we are using new technology to build a radically better financial system.

Four key API paths:
Blocks by Pool (GET) – Returns the blocks for one pool
Latest Block (GET) – Gets the latest block
Raw Address (GET) – Returns a single blockchain address
Stats (GET) – This method can be used to get the data behind Blockchain

Those four APIs provide numerous opportunities for creating streaming Blockchain APIs using Server-Sent Events (SSE). You can zoom all the way in on specific pools, blocks, and addresses, or zoom all the way out and look at the bigger picture and get deliver statistics about what is going on to a dashboard, or machine learning model. Representing a pretty key part of our financial API stack, but specifically allowing for staying in tune with what is happening with the Blockchain.
