API World 2018 came to San Jose with a fantastic gathering of many API minds from all over the country. The event was a networking and workshop dream for people in the API industry. API World is the largest vendor-neutral API event in the country. Roughly 2,000 people participated in the event to grow their knowledge and learn more about the different API initiatives and perspectives taking place within different technology companies.
Showing great energy at the event, Michelle Morgan, Supervisor, Business Development Rep at Axway showcased fantastic spirit that was live. She gave a quick tour to show you around the Axway booth, as well as keeping you up-to-date on the day’s events.
Arun Dorairajan, a Principal Solutions Architect at Axway was on hand to speak to different participants and get their fresh perspectives on the future of APIs.
Great insights into APIs future
According to attendee Shannon Wallace from the software quality tools provider SmartBear, “the future of APIs is everything. They are connecting the world, along with people and things. Making people’s lives better through technology, that’s the power of APIs.”
VS Joshi, the founder of online dating site TrintMe said he was at the event because “they had built a Facebook app, unfortunately, Facebook deprecated its APIs, so he was there to understand how do you safeguard the platform from deprecating the APIs when they are not sharing information.”
Arun also spoke with API World participant Natalia Gaouké, Partner Success Manager with Silverberry Genomix, personalized DNA-based wellness service. Natalia said the future of APIs “are very important for the next decade coupled together with these security measures, the CRMs and AI, blockchain, can actually secure quite a bit of data that we use and make it less threatened by attacks.”
LaDell Erby a Software Test Engineer for the wellness services marketplace MINDBODY said: “APIs are becoming very relevant in the everyday world and he believes as a QA that APIs need to be giving the correct data and not exposing anything or allowing any type of security risk.”
